Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore goalkeeper Alexa Pujol (New Canaan, Conn.) made 23 saves in her second consecutive shutout, as the Trinity College Bantams took a 3-0 win over the Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this afternoon on Williams Rink at the Koeppel Community Sports Center.  Trinity improves to 9-7 overall and 5-4 in the NESCAC with their sixth straight win.  The Mules dropped their fourth straight game, falling to 4-11-2 overall and 1-9-1 in the league.  
           
Trinity got on the board quick, with a goal by first-year defender Emily Riccio (Simsbury, Conn.), who scored her first collegiate goal, 7:08 into the game.   Outside of the score, the game was evenly matched in the back-and-forth first period, which saw each team fire 13 shots. 

Trinity controlled the second period on the offensive end, outshooting their opponent, 9-2, but Colby sophomore goalkeeper Brianne Wheeler (Brussels, Ontario) was a wall in the period, keeping the Mules within a goal heading into the third.  Senior Celia Colman-McGaw (Manchester, Conn.) scored her first goal of the season 7:24 into the final period, giving the Bantams a 2-0 edge, before first-year Lucy Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) scored an empty-netter to ice the win with 24 seconds left on the clock. 

Pujol finished the game with 23 saves to lower her GAA to 1.26 in 13 games this season.  Wheeler notched 32 saves for the Mules, allowing just two goals.  The Trinity defensive unit has held their opponent to seven goals in their last nine games, and just one in their last four.  The surging Bantams have won eight of their last nine contests since starting the season with a 1-6 mark.
