Pujol, Tani Lead Trinity Women's Ice Hockey To Win And Sweep At Colby

Waterville, Maine - Junior goaltender Alexa Pujol (New Canaan, Conn.) made 23 saves to record shutout of the Colby College Mules, as the visiting Trinity College Bantams posted a 1-0 victory in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's ice hockey this afternoon at Alfond Rink.  The Bantams, now 9-4-4 overall and 4-3-3 in the NESCAC, sweep the two-game series in Maine, and extend their unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1).  Colby, which lost to Trinity last night, 2-1, drops to 6-12 overall and 2-10 in the league.

Trinity freshman forward Emma Tani scored her sixth goal of the season unassisted at 5:22 of the second period.  Colby goalie Brianne Wheeler made 14 of her 30 saves in the scoreless opening period.  The Mules pulled Wheeler with 1:31 to play, but could not get the equalizer with the extra player.  The teams combined for just three penalties.
