Box Score Hartford, Conn. – Senior tri-captain attackman Rob
Nogueras (Parkland, Fla.) and classmate Matt Cohen (East Lyme,
Conn.) scored three times each to lead the Trinity College Bantams
to an 11-8 victory over the visiting Colby College Mules in New
England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's
lacrosse action this afternoon on Jessee/Miller Field.
Trinity improves to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the league with its
second win in as many days, while Colby falls to 4-6 overall and
1-5 in the NESCAC.

Trinity junior midfielder Terence Olsen (Avon, Conn.) scored the
lone goal of the first eight minutes, before Colby senior Ian
Deveau (Portsmouth, R.I.) equalized at the 6:38 mark of the first
quarter. Bantam junior Chase Growney (Berwyn, Pa.) netted
back-to-back goals 48 seconds apart over the next minute to give
Trinity the lead for good after the first stanza. Derek
Youngman (Cohasset, Mass.) scored the Mules 3:53 into the second
quarter, but Trinity answered with a 6-0 run over the next 22
minutes including two goals apiece by Cohen and Nogueras.
Colby cut the deficit to 9-4 after late third quarter goals by
Youngman and first-year Jack Bratches (New Canaan, Conn.).
Nogueras closed the third quarter with a goal, converting on the
third assist of the game for sophomore attackman Matt Hauck
(Ridgewood, N.J.) who also scored a goal. Cohen opened the
fourth quarter with another goal to make the score, 11-4, before
the Mules scored the final four goals of the game to account for
the 11-8 final tally.

Sophomore goalie Makar Zaverucha (Duxbury, Mass.) made 12 saves
in goal for Trinity, while Colby Tyler Will (Woodbury, N.Y.) made
13 saves for the Mules. Bantam first-year Michael McQuiston
(Greenwich, Conn.) scooped a team-high five ground balls, while
classmate Clay Richard (Medfield, Mass.) was 6-for-10 on face-offs,
and senior tri-captain middie Drew Grombala (Cincinnati, Ohio)
notched two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Colby
sophomore defenseman Peter Willauer (Duxbury, Mass.) scooped a
game-high eight ground balls to go with two caused turnovers, while
freshman Max Eberhart (Rye Beach, N.H.) was 11-for-20 on
face-offs. John Jennings (Danvers, Mass.) had a goal and two
assist for Colby.
