Traff Wins In Singles For Trinity Men's Tennis At No. 9-Ranked Middlebury

Middlebury, Vt. - First-year Ford Traff (Wayzata, Minn.) earned the lone Bantam point with a 6-4, 6-4, win at No. 5 singles, as the visiting Trinity College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 match against the Middlebury College Panthers in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) actioN this afternoon.  Trinity, ranked No. 8 in the Northeast, falls to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the NESCAC, while Middlebury, ranked No. 4 in the Northeast and No. 9 nationally, improves to 13-1. 

Traff teamed with senior tri-captain Kayong Lee (Villanova, Pa.) for a valiant effort at third doubles, before falling by a score of 9-7 and giving the Panthers a 3-0 lead entering singles play.  Bantam rookie Aaron Segel (Needham, Mass.) won his second set, 6-4, to force a third but lost in the tiebreaker at No 6 singles.
