Box Score

Waterville, Maine - A battle of first-year goaltenders between Trinity College's Sydney Belinskas and Colby College backstop Jess Thulin was a treat during the visiting Bantams' 2-0 victory over the Mules this afternoon in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action.  Trinity improves to 11-5-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the NESCAC, while Colby, which won the opener of the two-game set in Maine, 3-2, in overtime last night, moves to 10-9 overall and 3-9 in the league.

Belinskas stopped all 27 shots, while Thulin allowed just one goal and made 51 saves to keep Colby in the game.  After a scoreless first period, Trinity scored the game-winning goal with 5:16 left in the second period on Shannon Farrell's (Kennebunk, Maine) fifth of the season. Senior forward Lauren Fitzgerald had her ninth assist and junior Brooke Heron (South Salem, N.Y.) dished her third on the play.  The Bantams added an empty net goal with 40 seconds to play from junior forward Emma Tani (Orange, Calif.).  Rookie Tasha Adams (Reston, Va.) had the assist.
