Trinity College's Sydney Belinskas and Colby College backstop Jess
Thulin was a treat during the visiting Bantams' 2-0 victory over
the Mules this afternoon in New England Small College Athletic
Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action. Trinity
improves to 11-5-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the NESCAC, while Colby,
which won the opener of the two-game set in Maine, 3-2, in overtime
last night, moves to 10-9 overall and 3-9 in the league.
Belinskas stopped all 27 shots, while Thulin allowed just one goal
and made 51 saves to keep Colby in the game. After a
scoreless first period, Trinity scored the game-winning goal with
5:16 left in the second period on Shannon Farrell's (Kennebunk,
Maine) fifth of the season. Senior forward Lauren Fitzgerald had
her ninth assist and junior Brooke Heron (South Salem, N.Y.) dished
her third on the play. The Bantams added an empty net goal
with 40 seconds to play from junior forward Emma Tani (Orange,
Calif.). Rookie Tasha Adams (Reston, Va.) had the assist.
