Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams overcame a sluggish start with a strong second half and handed the Vassar College Brewers a 67-58 defeat this evening at the Vassar Athletics & Fitness Center.  Trinity improves to 13-6 with its third win in a row, while Brewers drop to 5-12 with their fourth consecutive setback and their third loss in as many years to the Bantams.

Trailing, 34-30, 1:38 into the second half, Trinity turned to senior co-captain Chris Turnbull (Ridgewood, N.J.) who scored the each of the game's next eight points to turn things around.  The game seesawed from there before fellow senior co-captain Ed Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) made a pair of free throws to break a 47-all tie midway through the second stanza.  Trinity clung to a 55-54 lead at the six-minute mark, but four straight points by senior guard Langdon Neal (Chicago, Ill.) and a Turnbull jumper pushed the Bantam advantage up to seven.  Turnbull iced it with a trey in transition to give him 17 points, also his total for the game, in the second half.

Vassar had used the three-ball to get ahead early. They hit five of their first six attempts from downtown to open the game, with each triple coming off the hand of a different Brewer. Trinity first-year forward Kyle Padmore (Milton, Mass.) hit the first Bantam three-pointer of the night to get the visitors to within three, 20-17, at the 6:26 mark. Vassar responded with a 7-2 run to take its largest lead of the game, 27-19.  The Bantams strung together six straight points to pull within two, 27-25, on a steal and fast-break layup by Ogundeko, but Vassar carried a 31-28 edge into the locker rooms. 

Ogundeko joined Turnbull in double figures in scoring with 11 points to go with a game-high nine boards, although the Bantams were outrebounded, 33-30, as a squad.  Trinity won despite a 50.0 percent field-goal percentage and a 44.4 three-point field-goal clip for Vassar, as the Brewers missed 11 of 21 foul shots and committed 20 turnovers resulting in 22 Bantam points.  Neal was solid all-around with nine points, six assists, and four steals, while sophomore Jeremy Arthur (Westbury, N.Y.) grabbed six boards.  Jesse Browne and Mason Dyslin had 11 points apiece for the Brewers.
