Waterville, Maine - Trinity first-year Taylor Foy (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) netted her first career goal with just 2:55 to play to give the Bantams a 2-1 win over the Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's hockey Saturday at Alfond Rink. The Bantams improve to 4-10-2 overall and 3-5-1 in the conference  while the Mules drop to 0-15-3 overall and 0-11-1 in the league.

Trinity had good puck movement on a power play to set up Foy's goal. She positioned herself near the left point and ripped a one-timer off a pass from senior captain Allie Bravi (Montreal, Quebec).

Both goaltenders played strong to keep their respective teams in the game. Trinity junior Sydney Belinskas (Port Orange, Fla.) stopped 37 shots and had 15 saves in the final period while her Colby counterpart, Halley Fine (Minneapolis, Minn.) tallied 46 saves, including 18 in the final 20 minutes.

The Bantams scored the first goal of the afternoon on a transition goal at 16:10 of the first period. With a scrum of players in the corner in the Colby end, the puck knuckled to junior Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.) who broke up the right side of the rink and hit a shot that Fine stopped. Finn tried to poke at the rebound, but classmate Melissa Maffeo (Melrose, Mass.) came flying in and buried the puck into the back of the net to take the 1-0 lead.

The Mules scored at the 2:51 mark of the third period to tie the game at 1-1 after a face-off on the right side in Trinity's zone.  Bella Papapetros (North Andover, Mass.) scored her second goal in two games when she lifted a rebound high into the net.

Trinity returns to action on Tuesday when they play hosts to the Connecticut College Camels in a conference matchup between in-state rivals.
