Amherst, Mass. - Freshman OH Danielle Isaman (West
Hartford, Conn.) totaled 15 kills and four blocks to lead
the Trinity College Bantams to a 3-2 victory over the Tufts
University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference
(NESCAC) volleyball action this evening at Amherst College.
Trinity, ranked No. 15 among over 70 Division III teams in the New
England region, improves to 12-9 overall and 5-4 in the NESCAC,
while the Jumbos, ranked No. 1 in New England, falls to 25-3
overall and 7-2 in the league with its first loss in seven
matches.
Tufts could have secured first place in the NESCAC final
standings with a win, but the upset-minded Bantams won the first,
third and fifth sets to to offset one-sided defeats in the second
and fourth sets and take the match. Final scores were 25-22, 14-25,
25-18, 11-25, 15-8. Trinity sophomore OH Sarah
Blagden (Charleston, S.C.) totaled 15 kills, three aces,
and 20 digs, while and sophomore S Jennifer Low
(San Francisco, Calif.) added 29 assists,
and junior co-captain Kristen Anderson (West Haven,
Conn.) had 15 kills.
