Hartford, Conn. - Junior Trevor Bradley (West
Hartford, Conn.) and junior Ryan Howarth (Grand
Blanc, Mich.) scored two goals apiece to lead the
Connecticut College Camels to a 6-3 win over the Trinity College
Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)
men's ice hockey action this evening at Williams Rink.
Trinity drops to 13-6 overall and 10-5 in the NESCAC after the
loss, while the Camels improve to 11-6-3 overall and 7-5-3 in the
league.
Trinity jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first period on goals
from sophomore forward Adam Houli (Howell, N.J.)
and junior Zachary Wissman (Guilford, Vt.), but
Bradley responded, netting two goals of his own in the period,
tying the game at 2-2. Freshman Sean McCarthy
(Duxbury, Mass.) scored in the third to give Trinity the
lead once again, but Howarth would answer with a goal less than two
minutes later, tying the game at three apiece heading into the
final period of action.
Three minutes into the period, senior Ben Eischen
(Brookfield, N.H.) would score the first of three goals in
the final period, and eventual the game-winner for the
Camels. Junior goalkeeper Greg Parker (Trenton,
Ontario) had a flawless third period to prevent Trinity
from making up the deficit, which would only widen as the period
progressed. Sophomore Ryan Riffe (Berwick,
Maine) padded the Camel lead with a late goal, and Howarth
would score his second of the game on an empty net with just over a
minute remaining in the game to ice the win for the Camels.
Junior goaltender Joseph Hanson (Weymouth, Mass.)
started for the injured Wesley Vesprini (Lexington,
Mass.), in just his third career start. Hanson made
23 saves as his individual record drops to 3-1.
Parker made 27 stops on 30 shots to earn the win for the Camels.
