Jen Low (San Francisco, Calif.) had a career-high
assists digs to go with 14 digs and three blocks to lead the
Trinity College Bantams to a 3-2 win over the Middlebury College
Panthers in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)
volleyball action this afternoon at Amherst College. Trinity,
improves to 11-6 overall and 3-5 in the NESCAC, while the Panthers,
ranked No. 5 in New England drop to 15-5 overall and 6-2 in the
league with defeats against the Bantams and the Connecticut College
Camels today. Trinity won the first two sets, 25-21, and,
25-23, but dropped the next two, 25-20, and, 25-21, to set a fifth
frame. The Bantams won its first fifth set of the season in
three tries, edging the Panthers, 16-14, to secure their first win
in three matches.
Trinity freshman OH Hannah Brickley
(Melrose, Mass.) paced the offense with 24 kills and added
20 digs, while senior tri-captain RS Kristen Anderson (West
Haven, Conn.) added 11 kills, 15 digs, two aces, and four
blocks. Juniors Kelly O'Brien (Pelham,
N.Y.) and Courtney Chaloff (Chestnut Hill,
Mass.) combined to make 14 blocks, while junior
tri-captain Sarah Blagden (Charleston, S.C.) and
junior Alexandra Pell (San Diego, Calif.) were a
perfect 61-for-61 between them receiving. Blagden also
eclipsed the 30-dig mark for the fourth time this fall with a
career-high 35.
