Hartford, Conn. – Senior co-captain Robyn Williams
(Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) scored two goals, including the game

the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 victory over the Tufts
University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference
(NESCAC) women's field hockey action on Robin Sheppard
Field this afternoon. Trinity improves to 7-4 overall and 5-2

Williams gave the Bantams a 1-0 lead midway through the first
half before Tufts closed the opening frame with a game-tying goal
from senior Melissa Burke (Walpole, Mass.).
After a scoreless second half, the teams headed to overtime,
and Trinity needed almost every second of it to secure their fourth
straight victory. Junior Caroline Snite
(Philadelphia, Penn.) came up with a rebound on the right
side of the Tufts goal, before finding Williams on her left, who
put the game-winner into the bottom right corner of the cage with
just 5.5 seconds remaining on the clock, as her team stormed the
field in celebration.
Tufts outshot Trinity 20-6, but Trinity junior
goalkeeper Gina Dinallo (West
Hartford, Conn.) came up with a season-high 13 saves to
frustrate a red-hot Jumbos offense that had scored 23 goals in its
previous four games. Tufts junior goalkeeper Marianna
Zak (Concord, Mass.) finished the game with two saves for
the Jumbos.
Tufts is 41-2 in regular season games since Oct. 6, 2007, both
losses coming to Trinity. In that span, the Jumbos have
outscored their opponents 185-28, and 100-12 in the past two
regular seasons. The Jumbos had allowed just three goals in nine
games this season prior to today, shutting out six of their
opponents along the way. Trinity and Tufts have gone to
overtime in four of their last five
contests.
