Box Score Hartford, Conn. – Senior co-captain OH Amy Newman (Los Angeles, Calif.) totaled 23 kills, 15 digs, and a pair of blocks to lead the visiting Connecticut College Camels to a 3-1 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) volleyball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity, ranked No. 8 in New England, drops to 13-4 overall and 4-2 in the NESCAC with its first loss in seven matches, while the Camels, ranked No. 7 in New England, improve to 13-6 overall and 5-3 in the league. Completing this weekend's NESCAC play at Oosting Gym tomorrow, Trinity will face Tufts, ranked No. 4 in New England, tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., while the Camels will play Wesleyan at 11 a.m.
Connecticut College scored the last five points in the first set for a 25-20 win, and used a 7-0 run to turn a 14-14 tie into a 21-14 lead en route to a 25-17 triumph in the second set. The Bantams edged the Camels, 26-24, in the third set, but Connecticut College toughed out a 25-22 win the in the fourth set to take the match.
Junior OH Danielle Isaman (West Hartford, Conn.) paced Trinity with 14 kills added two aces, two blocks, and 15 digs, while sophomore OH Hannah Brickley (Melrose, Mass.) contributed 13 kills and 11 digs. Senior co-captain S Jen Low (San Francisco, Calif.) recorded 36 assists and 19 digs, and senior L Sarah Blagden (Charleston, S.C.) registered 18 digs for the Bantams.Senior co-captain Ally Terlizzi (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) notched 31 digs, while freshman MH Anelise Hohl (Atherton, Calif.) added three blocks, and junior RS Rachel Schroff (Palos Verdes, Calif.) had 11 kills and 12 digs for Connecticut College.
