Box Score Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore Lauren Glynn
(Arlington, Mass.) scored a late goal to break a 1-1
deadlock and propel the Trinity College Bantams over the Williams
College Ephs, 2-1, in New England Small College Athletic Conference
(NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this afternoon at the
Koeppel Community Sports Center. Trinity improves to 4-7
overall and 2-4 in the league, while the Ephs fall to 4-6 on the
year, and 2-2 in the NESCAC.
Glynn's goal, which came on a rebound with 4:10 remaining
in the contest, was her team-best fifth of the season and second
game-winner this year. Trinity had taken a 1-0 lead 1:10 into
the second period on a goal by sophomore Macauly Bauer
(Sheboygan, Wisc.), her second career tally, and Williams
answered five minutes later with a goal by Cristina Bravi
(Montreal, QC), her second score in as many days against
Trinity.
Trinity sophomore goaltender Alexa Pujol (New Canaan,
Conn.) was staunch in net, blocking all six of
Williams' shots in the final period to protect the Trinity
lead. Pujol finished with 21 saves in the game.
Williams' first-year goaltender Chloe Billadeau
(Chaska, Minn.) made 18 saves for the Ephs.
It was a role reversal for the teams from last night, when
Williams and Trinity scored a combined three goals, but with the
Ephs emerging victorious by a count of 2-1, in the first of this
weekend's two-game series. Today's win for
Trinity was their first league win since the opening game of the
season, a 3-1 win over Connecticut College.
