Box Score Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College Bantams and the
Connecticut College Camels played to a 1-1 draw in New England
Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey
action this afternoon at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community
Sports Center. Trinity moves to 1-0-1 overall and in the NESCAC,
having won last night, 3-0, in the two-game series opener.
The visiting Camels are now 0-1-1 overall and in the
league.
Moments before the close of what appeared to be a scoreless
first period, Trinity sophomore forward Lucy Robinson
(Toronto, Ontario) gave the Bantams a 1-0 lead on a
strange play that saw Connecticut College senior goaltender
Amy Leichliter (West Chester, Pa.) leave the puck
unattended for a Camel skater before Robinson raced to it and
flipped it past her with 3.6 seconds left on the clock during a
Connecticut College power play. The score remained the same
through the second stanza and well into the third, but Camel junior
forward Courtney Dumont (Lewiston, Maine) came up
with the puck right in front of the Trinity net after a scrum in
the right corner and stuffed it past Bantam junior goalie
Alexa Pujol (New Canaan, Conn.) to tie the game at
1-1 with 4:39 left in regulation.

Sophomore defender Lily Gacicia (Milton, Mass.)
nearly scored on a pair of close shots with just over a minute left
in the third frame, but both were stopped by Leichliter. In
overtime, Camel junior forward Jen Morgan (Orange,
Conn.) rifled a shot from straight on that Pujol stopped
with a kick save to her right, and Bantam junior forward
Emily Kleidon (Oakdale, Minn.) missed wide with
Trinity's closest chance from the left wing during a Bantam
power play with 1:20 remaining in the extra period. Pujol
made 24 saves and Leichliter had 26 stops, and the teams combined
to 0-for-8 on power plays.
