Box Score Harford, Conn. – The Trinity College Bantams made quick
work of the visiting Hamilton College Continentals with a 3-0
victory in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)
volleyball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity
improves to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the NESCAC, winning its first
league home game, while the Continentals fall to 3-11 overall and
0-3 in the conference. Set scores were, 25-13, 25-21, and,
25-11.
Trinity maintained a .330 hitting percentage
as a team for the match, led by senior tri-captain OH Hannah
Brickley (Melrose, Mass.) and sophomore MH Kate Giddens (Rancho
Palos Verdes, Calif.) with 18 kills apiece but just five errors
between them. Brickley also had a game-high 19 digs and two
blocks, while Giddens added three blocks. Senior tri-captain
Amy Hackett (Wallingford, Conn.) and first-year Randi Whitham
(South Weymouth, Mass.) totaled 18 assists each, while sophomore MH
Katie Stueber (Darien, Conn.) made a game-high five blocks, and
rookie L Kristen Cooprider (Hopkinton, Mass.) recorded 10
digs. Junior RS Erin Casey (Montclair, N.J.) paced Hamilton
with five kills and two blocks, while classmate Emily Rosen
(Beverly Hills, Calif.) had 12 digs.
“I was happy with the way we played and
especially how we kept our energy level up throughout the entire
match,” said Trinity Head Coach Jen Bowman.
