Box Score Hartford, Conn. - Senior goaltender Kelsie Fralick (West
Chester, Pa.) made 31 saves to lead the visiting Connecticut
College Camels to a 2-1 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in
New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice
hockey action this evening at Williams Rink. After the teams
tied, 2-2, last night in the season opener in Hartford, the Bantams
fall to 0-1-1 overall and in the NESCAC, while the Camels improve
to 1-0-1 overall and in the league.
All three goals in the game were scored in the first 13:26 of
action, beginning with a power-play redirection by Camel senior
forward Amelia Dineen (Arlington, Mass.) just 3:09 into the
contest. Trinity senior forward Lauren Fitzgerald (Milton,
Mass.) answered with an unassisted tally eight minutes into the
opening stanza, but Connecticut College went ahead for good on a
goal by senior forward Alexa de la Fuardia (Flower Mond, Texas)
with 6:34 left before the first break.
Fralick and Trinity sophomore netminder Claudia Escue
(Carbondale, Colo.) both turned away each of the 13 shots they
faced in the second period, while Escue had nine saves in the third
period for a total of 28. Fitzgerald got ma decent look with
Escue pulled in the final seconds, but Fralick made her sixth save
of the final period to cement the win for the Camels.
Connecticut College sophomore defender Jane Pagano (Erie, Pa.) and
Julie Beattie (Livonia, Mich.) both assisted on each of the Camel
goals.
