Box Score Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie with Colby in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Campus Field. Neither squad could break through during the 110 minutes of play as the Bantams moved to 3-2-1 on the year and 0-2-1 in league play, while the Mules are now 1-3-1 and 0-2-1 in NESCAC contests.
Trinity junior goalkeeper Monica DiFiori (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) made six saves to record her third shutout of the season, while senior Emily Brook turned aside all nine shots she faced for Colby to earn her second clean sheet of 2014.
The Bantams held a 13-10 advantage in shots and took three corners to the Mules five.
Trinity junior forward Alexa Menard (Wallingford, Conn.) had a team-high two shots on goal and seven other Bantams fired one shot on target during the game. Seniors Cami Notaro and Maddie Tight led the offensive charge for Colby with three shots on goal apiece.
In four home games this year, the Bantams defense has stood their ground surrendering just one goal. In front of the home crowd in 2014, Trinity has outshot its opponents, 90-21, and outscored them, 13-1.
Trinity returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with a non-conference tilt at Albertus Magnus beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Bantams are looking for their first road win of the season and are riding a four-game winning streak versus the Falcons.
