Box Score Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College women's soccer team defeated Albertus Magnus 5-0 on Thursday afternoon in Hartford, moving the Bantams to 4-1 on the season, while the Falcons drop to 2-4-2. The Bantams had four players score goals, highlighted by freshman Taylor Kirchgessner (Bethesda, Md.) who found the back of the net twice in the Bantams' victory.
Trinity struck first on Kirchgessner's first goal just two minutes into the first half. Trinity did not stop there as juniors Andi Nicholson (Grafton, Mass.) and Laura Nee (Duxbury, Mass.) also scored goals in the first 15 minutes of match. The Bantams controlled possession for the majority of the first half, tallying nine shots to the Falcons' one. Senior Kelsey Thomas (Stonington, Conn.) netted her first goal of the season at the 33 minute mark to give Trinity a 4-0 advantage heading into the half.

The second half went scoreless for 15 minutes until Kirchgessner scored her second goal of the game to give Trinity a 5-0 advantage and seemingly put the game out of reach. Albertus Magnus was unable to get anything going offensively as the Trinity defense held strong all afternoon, holding the Falcons to just three shots all game.
Senior goalkeeper Monica DiFiori (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) recorded her third shutout of the year, not seeing a single shot on goal from the Falcons. She sets the College's all-time shutout mark with the 18th of her career, surpassing Emily Weedon.
The Bantams will take their three game winning streak into the weekend when they travel to Waterville, Maine to face New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe, Colby, on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11:00 a.m.
