Box Score Farmingdale, N.Y. - Trinity College senior tri-captain Laura Nee (Duxbury, Mass.) scored the lone goal of the first 89 minutes, but senior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) answered for the homestanding Farmingdale State College Rams with 55 seconds left in regular time, as the Bantams opened the 2016 season with a 1-1 tie this evening. Framingham State stays winless at 0-2-2 with its second stalemate in a row.
In the 73rd minute of action, Nee scored unassisted from 20 yards outto break the scoreless tie. Howard moved past a defender and shot into the bottom right corner with the game-tying marker. The Bantams controlled the offense in the first overtime period as they outshot Farmingdale State, 6-0, but were unable to find the net. In the second overtime, the Rams defense allowed a single shot by Trinity first-year Grace Chalmers (Irvine, Calif.), which went wide, while Trinity's back line did not yield a shot after the 90-minute mark. Ram freshman goalkeeper Daniela Ford (Dix Hills, N.Y.) stopped a career-high 11 shots, while junior Julia Pitino (Littleton, Mass.) had six saves for Trinity in her first career start.
