New London, Conn. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams scored three times in the third period to win their fifth game in a row, 5-2, against the Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's ice hockey action this afternoon at Dayton Arena.  Trinity, ranked No. 6 in the nation, has won each of its last five games by a three-goal margin against NESCAC opponents and outscored those teams, 12-1, in the third period.  The Bantams improve to 11-3-2 overall and improve their league-leading record against conference opponents to 8-1-1, while Connecticut College falls to 6-4 in the NESCAC and 7-9 overall. Trinity sweeps the season series, having won, 2-1, at home on November 18, and wins for the 13th-consecutive time against the Camels.

Trinity trailed, 2-1, late in the second period, but tied the game in the final minute before the last break on a goal by sophomore forward Barclay Gammill (New Canaan, Conn.).  Fellow sophomore forward Andy Chugg (Mesa, Ariz.) put the Bantams ahead with 8:05 left in the third period, deking Connecticut College sophomore goaltender Connor Rodericks (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) one-on-one and beating him low and to his left.  Trinity sophomore forward Adam Anderson (Hugo, Minn.) and first-year forward Nicholas Polsinelli (Galloway, N.J.) assisted on the play.  Trinity rookie forward Blake Carrick (Orland Park, Ill.) came up just short trying to stuff the puck between Rodericks and the post moments later, but junior forward Ryan Pfeffer (Canton, Mass.) was able to net Trinity's fourth goal during a scrum in front of the Camel crease with 6:02 on the clock.  Bantam rookie Michael Grande (Des Plaines, Ill.) connected on an empty-netter late for his first career goal to round out the scoring.

Trinity senior captain Anthony Sabitsky (Sicklerville, Pa.) had opened the scoring 8:26 into the first period, as the visitors doubled up Connecticut College, 10-5, on the shot chart but held just a 1-0 lead at the first intermission.  The Camels got on the board on a power-play goal by freshman Paul Capozzi (Lake Forest, Ill.) 5:13 into the second period, and took a 2-1 lead just past the midway point of the second on a goal by senior defenseman Mason Evans (Buffalo, N.Y.).  Bantam senior goalie Alex Morin (St. Hubert, Quebec) made a clutch against Connecticut College sophomore forward Jacob Moreau (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) with 1:40 on the clock to keep the Trinity deficit at one.  Rodericks returned the favor with a stop on a shot from close by Bantam rookie Dylan Healey (Gosen, N.Y.) seconds after that, before Gammill tied the game at 2-all with assists provided by Sabitsky and sophomore defenseman Liam Feeney (Foxboro, Mass.).

Morin finished with 15 saves and Rodericks had 27, as the Bantams finished the contest with a 32-to-17 shooting edge.  Polsinelli and Moreau had two assists apiece for their respective teams.  Trinity was 0-for-2 on power plays and Connecticut College was 1-for-4 with the extra skater.  Trinity will host league rival Amherst in its next game on Saturday, January 26 at 7:30 p.m.
