Hartford, Conn. – Junior defenseman Nick Fiorentino (Hartsdale, N.Y.) assisted on one goal and scored the game-tying goal in the third period, as the Trinity College Bantams tied the visiting Hamilton College Continentals, 2-2, in New England Small College Athletic Conference men's ice hockey action this evening at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 5 in the nation, moves to 4-0-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the NESCAC, while the Continentals are now 3-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the league.  Trinity hosts Amherst tomorrow at 4 p.m. and Hamilton visits Wesleyan at 3 p.m. in a pair of conference contests.

Trinity trailed, 2-1, after two periods despite a 30-to-16 shooting edge, and nearly tied the game early in the final frame when junior forward Barclay Gammill (New Canaan, Conn.) was denied by Hamilton junior goaltender Anthony Tirabassi (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) on a two-one-one.  Fiorentino knotted the score with the game's final tally with 10:09 remaining in regulation on a wrist shot from straight on that caromed down off the bar and into the net.  Gammill and sophomore forward Devin Moore (Danville, N.H.) assisted on the play.

Hamilton came close to going back ahead in the final two minutes, but Bantam junior backstop Tedy Loughborough (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) made a nice save against Hamilton rookie forward Andrew Court (Burlington, Ontario) on a one-timer from close range.  Trinity doubled up Hamilton in shots in the overtime, 6-3, including a bid that sailed just wide by Bantam sophomore defenseman Michael Grande (West Chester, Pa.) on a two-on-one and three shots by rookie teammate Lucas Michaud (South Portland, Maine) in the final 1:10.

Trinity had scored first on a goal by junior forward Andy Chugg (Mesa, Ariz.) with 3:08 left in the first period, but the Continentals went ahead with two goals in the latter half of the second stanza.  Junior defenseman Blayne Oliver (Blenheim, Ontario) and freshman forward Jordi Jefferson (Wasaga Beach, Ontario) scored the Hamilton goals.  Loughborough finished with 23 saves and Tirabassi collected 50 stops, as the home team finished with a 52-to-245 shooting advantage over 65 minutes.  The teams came up empty on six combined power plays.
