Hartford, Conn. - Rookie Duun O'Hara (Woodstock, Conn.) fired a shot past Bates goalie Katherine Nuckols (Los Angeles, Calif.) in the 88th minute to lift the Trinity College women's soccer team to a come-from-behind, 2-1, victory over the Bates College Bobcats on Saturday in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) match in sunny Hartford. The Bantams, who trailed, 1-0 after an early first half goal by the Bobcats, improve to 3-4-1 overall and pick up their first conference win to move to 1-4. Bates falls to 2-6-0 and 0-6 in conference action. 

Both teams tallied 12 shots on the day with the Bantams earning three corners to the Bobcats' two. Trinity sophomore goalie Taylor O'Connor (Danvers, Mass.) had a strong day in net, making six saves in her second win of the season. 

Bates managed to jump out to an early 1-0 lead after 16 minutes of scoreless action. Riley Turcotte (Middletown, R.I.) beat O'Connor to the back of the net for her third goal of the fall. The goal was O'Connor and the Bantam defense's lone blemish on the day, but the Bates back line played equally as strong in the first half, holding Trinity without a shot on net for the first 45 minutes of play.

Trinity finally broke through in the second half, in the 66th minute, when first-year Colleen Lux (Shaker Heights, Ohio) scored her first career goal to tie things at 1-1. Lux was assisted on the score by sophomore forward Amelia Kroschwitz (Byfield, Mass.), who now leads the team with four. 

O'Connor made three second half saves to keep Bates off the scoreboard while the Bates back line did the same. That was, until the 88th minute when Trinity junior Tricia Pollock (Beverly, Mass.) controlled the ball near mid-field and sent a beatiful through ball to O'Hara who was racing down the middle of the field. O'Hara settled the ball before sending it into the back of the net to give Trinity its first lead of the day with 2:05 remaining. Bates was unable to find the equalizer in the final minutes of action as the Bantams came away with the 2-1 victory.
